Agriculture in maintenance of natural values at Kopaonik National Park [Serbia]

Regarding the main natural, social, economic and other resources of the area comprised by the Spacial Plan of the Kopaonik National Park, Serbia, the paper stresses the importance of maintaining and developing the farm households as the key precondition to render the adequate level of population density, and also for protection and improvement of natural and cultural landscape values. Agro-environmental goods of the protected areas have been endangered by unfavourable ownership and production structure of farms and by depopulation of rural areas and settlements. Restoration and development of pastures livestock breeding and maintenance and transformation of settlement network at National Park area should be of the highest priority for future activities on cultural landscape and natural goods protection and presentation.
