Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) related with rice qualities of appearance, cooking and eating were analyzed. A total of 45 QTLs for grain length, grain width, length-width rate, chalkiness rate, amylase content and alkali spread value were identified and mapped onto the rice chromosome 1,2, 3,4,6,7,9,10 and 12. Nine QTLs can be repetively detected in two years. These QTLs were useful for improving the quality of Chuanxiang 29B through molecular marker-assisted selection.
