According to inoculation tests with fungi, the mortality of seedlings was 0, 0 and 2. 5% within 7d, 15d and 30d, respectively, whereas the local main variety Longjiao 2 was 2. 5%, 21.25% and 37.5%, accordingly. Under comparatively large-scale demonstration and extension, the mortality from Phytophthora capsici infection could be controlled within 6 %.
