Summary: | This paper reports the resistance of diamond back moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella, to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) in Southern China. The resistance of DBM to Bt in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and some other areas of Southern China was found to be 10-25 times (average of 17 times) greater than that of the DBM in Yangzhou. The resistant DBM has greater sensibility to four common stereotypes of Bt, viz. H1, H3, H5 and H7. The results of the tests also indicated that the DBM had no cross resistance against Bt and the tested chemical pesticides. Mixed formulation of Bt and the chemical pesticides gave good control results. |
