Summary:The efficiency of NAD (naphthylacetamid) used alone or in combination with ANA (naphthylacetic acid) with various spraying techniques was tested with the variety Golden Delicious on 11-year old trees. For the time being, in regard to the effects of thinning, the average weight and the quality of the fruit, the TRV concept (adaptation of the quantity of substance and water to the volume of the trees) proves to be inadequate. Once more it appears that good climatic conditions at the moment of applying are decisive for a successful thinning.
