The book analyzes main technologies and methods of breeding and utilization of Belarusian Large White breed of pigs. Comparative analysis of swine productivity is made and efficiency of utilization of Belarusian Large White for creation of special lines is analyzed. Reproductive qualities of pigs of specialized lines within the linear selection and interline crosses depending on consanguine are evaluated. Reproductive qualities of sows, feeding qualities of linear and hybrid piglets, slaughter weight and fattening qualities of linear and hybrid species are investigated. Interior features of animals according the genotypes, resistance of young animals, morphological and biochemical composition of blood of young animals are analyzed; evaluation of stress syndrome of line genotypes and their hybrids is made. Economic efficiency of breeding of pigs of different genotypes is calculated, economic efficiency of increase of fattening qualities of young pigs of different inbreeding and interbreed combinations is analyzed. Methods of population genetics during creation, development and use of Belarusian Large White breed of pigs in breeding systems and industrial crossing, methodical approaches to assessing the productivity of sows of Belarusian Large White in industrial crossing, methods of increasing of productive qualities of sows and the methods of calculating of the effect of heterosis are suggested. Effectiveness of swine selection in Belarus is analyzed; productivity level of breeding stock and the direction of further development of the breeding process are evaluated.
