Mastitis treatment with a new iodine-containing drug Monklavit-1

In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analyzed methods of veterinary treatment and preventive maintenance of cow udder with a new veterinary drug Monklavit-1. The therapeutic efficiency of the veterinary drug Monklavit-l against subclinical cow mastitis was 75.0%, veterinary drugTsephalomast (control) - 62,5%; according to quarters of an udder – 81.8% and 61.5%, respectively. After application of Monklavit-l preparation the skin of udder milking tubes of cows was soft and elastic. Allergic reactions and irritation were not observed. Stated scratches, erosions and other skin damages of cows in the experimental group were healed during 2-3 days, while in the control (Tsephalomast) – during 4-6 days. Recovery of cows with endometritis in case of treatment with Monklavit-l preparation was stated on the fourth day, in the control (treatment with Floxometrin) – on the eighth day. The state of experimental cows was satisfactory, complications after application of the preparation were not observed.
