Summary: | In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was realized an evaluation of apple (Malus) hybrids resistance to scab (Venturia inaequalis (Coock.) Wint. (conidial stage Fusicladium dendriticum (Wallr.). The evaluation was performed in an artificial medium and in field conditions in a scab epiphitotics year. In addition, there were presented data of molecular-genetic analysis on detection of Vf gene presence in the hybrids genomes. The research results confirmed high efficiency of selecting the cultivars Imant, Nadzejny and Redkraft and hybrids 86-54/133, 86-54/137, 86-41/5, 98-29/36 as initial material for scab-immune forms breeding. As a result of analysis of progeny of the studied families it was concluded that steady resistance of hybrid material to scab was preconditioned by the efficient selection of initial parental forms: 86-54/133 (Antej x VM41497), 86-54/137 (Antej x VM41497), 86-41/5 (VM41497 x Antej), Imant, Nadzejny, Redkraft, 98-29/36 (Otava), Rybin, and Pamyat Vavilova. Furthermore, M. sieboldii 19/2, M. sieboldii 25/175 and F1 M. x zumi 21/4 proved to be valuable initial forms for selection with aim of expanding the genetic basis of resistance to scab. There were obtained selection hybrids without Vf/gene in their genotypes and which showed high resistance to scab in a laboratory and field conditions. |
