Summary:Influence of the terms of the first colostrum feeding of newborn calves on their ability to life, health, growth and development was studied. The dependence of colostrum quality of litter sex was tested as well. It is revealed that the most optimal period of giving the first portion of colostrum to newborn calves is during the 0.5-1st hour after birth. Colostrum of cows borned bulls is more valuable than of those borned heifers proceeding from its chemical composition.
