Summary:The praxis of preparing investment projects for agricultural machinery showed, that there is a lack of methodology for estimation and ground of necessary machines, accordingly to the programm of farm operations. Solutions of that problem are proposed in the paper, based on the condition for timely performance of field operations in most intensive agro-technical periods and prediction of typical for the region workdays. The methodology provides flexibility when selecting the specific number and power of machines. Also recommendations for selecting of specific makes and models of tractors in agribusiness projects have been proposed in the paper, based on analysis of proportions between the prices and most important machinery parameters, such as power, specific fuel consumption, field efficiency, reliability indicators, etc.
