Summary:Variations in microstructure of muscle tissue due to spoilage at different regions of the body of Cirrhinus mrigala at ambient temperature have been observed. Increased deformation and rupturing of tissue with the increase of voids was noticed with the progress of spoilage. No significant differences was observed among the sections of dorsal, ventral and tail region. Compared to white muscle, dark muscle was more reddish, compact and the cell dimensions were smaller.
