Summary: | Results of studies on the fecundity of 24 fishes of Anabas testudineus (Blosh) were presented. The fecundity varied from 12,355 eggs (a fish with total length 12.3 cm and weight 30.24 g) to 41,820 eggs (a fish with total length 15.5 cm and weight 66.62 g). The correlation co-efficient was highest in case of relationship between fecundity and ovary which indicated that fecundity bears strong relationship with ovary weight. The fecundity was found to bear linear relationship with total leangth, somatic weight and ovary weight. |
