In the ocean sciences, a project wasstarted in 2008 to bring together scientists,data managers, and library experts toexplore means to (1) increase the submissionof data to data centers, (2) make datamore accessible for reuse, (3) link datamore closely to traditional journal publications,and (4) create a system that givesmore credit to data generators.
