Summary: | Gives details of experiments carried out on custard apple and lychee trees with apparently unhealthy root systems to alleviate damage from disease causing organisms, nematodes and arthropods. It was discovered that the damage to custard apple trees seemed to be mainly caused by soil borne fungi, while damage to the lychees appeared to be mainly from nematodes and symphylans. In neither case were effective control measures able to be instituted, though many products and strategies were tried. The project was not continued. |
