The contents and the nature of humus substances in the soils of our country

The content of humus substances is studied in 422 samples taken in various kinds soils. The spectrophotometric curves are gained by using the values of the optical density measured in wave-length 400-700 mm for 6 kinds of soils: magnezium, acid, normal, black, salty and aluvional. Summary:The content of humus substances is studied in 422 samples taken in various kinds soils. The spectrophotometric curves are gained by using the values of the optical density measured in wave-length 400-700 mm for 6 kinds of soils: magnezium, acid, normal, black, salty and aluvional. The results show that the coefficient of extention E 0.001 percent h/465 mm 1 cm is high for the humic acids of the magnezium soils and heavy black soils while the salty soils, acid soils, normal soils and the aluvional soils have low values of the optical density and of the extention coefficients.
