Summary:In the Albania vineyards in a period of two years 1996-97, were surveyed for the nematodes as virus vectors of the genus Xiphinema and Longidorus. Xiphinema index known as virus vectors of grapevine fanleaf, were detected in the Tirana, Durres and Shkoder. Morphometric characters of Xiphinema index species isolated from Albania vineyeard are within the range recorded for the species. Other nematodes as virus vectors of grapevines, in our survey are not found till now. The Longidorus genera is present in Albania but not have arrive till now to indentification of species. In addition, all strategies against GFV decided in replanting programms require an exact knowledge of the namatological situation regarding Xiphinema index.
