Summary: | A project was conducted to develop a model vocational agriculture curriculum for high schools in north central Washington. During the project, units of instruction were developed that addressed the job skills needed by entry-level workers to fill jobs existing in agricultural occupations in the north central region of Washington. A pilot test of the curriculum developed was begun in two high schools during the 1984-1985 school year and is slated to continue throughout the year. (This report includes the project-developed model curriculum and its design; a statement of the philosophy of the curriculum; and descriptions of courses in the following subject areas: agricultural science, horticulture, advanced horticulture, agricultural welding, small engines, and power mechanics. Each course description contains lists of unit topics; estimated unit completion times; lists of student learning objectives addressed in each unit; and a list of suggested references, instructional materials, and learning activities.)
