Pattison in "The Educational Purposes of Geography" related geography to knowledge centered and skill centered education, and to fulfillment centered curriculum. Carl E. Shomberg and Jack M. Sheridan, Angus M. Gunn, and A. David Hill deal successively with evaluation of geographic learning at elementary, secondary, and college levels. Edward A. Fernald gives "A Review of Teacher Education Programs." Robert Richburg and George Vuicich deal largely with cognitive learning in "Constructing and Interpreting Classroom Tests in Geography." Ronald J. B. Carswell in "Evaluation of Affective Learning in Geographic Education" suggests reasons for measuring attitudes as well as several ways of gathering and using attitudinal data. In chapter 9 Susan Wood makes "An Evaluation of Achievement Tests in Geography" with discriminating comments on standardized tests from 10 different publishers.
