Summary:There are provided novel slug baits which are composed of the following constituents: A) native carrier material, B) molluscicidal active substance, C) edible substance, D) binder which is stable to hydrolysis, and E) if appropriate, other additives. The binders used in combination with the native carrier material impart, to the complete slug bait, on the one hand outstanding rain fastness and, on the other hand, do not impair ingestion of edible substances and active substance by the slugs. It is an essential advantage of the slug baits according to the invention that their action is markedly prolonged when the native material is used as a carrier. This means that no significant amounts of active substance enter the soil, which might cause damage to soil- dwelling organisms.
