1319192 Mould lubricants DOW CORNING CORP 26 April 1971 [25 May 1970] 11268/71 Heading C5F [Also in Division C3] A bag lubricant for tyre moulding comprises by weight (A) 3-40% of (1) a mixture of 1-20%, of the composition, of a polyalkylmethylsiloxane of at least 10,000 cs./25‹ C. and 2-20% of a polyalkylene oxide or polyoxyalkylene polyalkylmethylsiloxane copolymer, of at least 1000 molecular weight, in which the oxyalkylene units are oxyethylene and/or oxypropylene units or (2) a polyoxyalkylene polyalkylmethylsiloxane copolymer, of viscosity at least 10,000 cs./25‹ C., in which the oxyalkylene units are oxyethylene and/or oxypropylene units, and the siloxane units constitute 5-50 wt. per cent of the copolymer, (B) 25-50% of mica of 160-600 US Standard mesh, (C) 0À25- 5% of finely divided magnesium silicate, (D) 0À1-5% lecithin, and (E) 15-55% water. In Examples 1-5 compositions are prepared containing (A) a polydimethylsiloxane of 10,000 cs./25‹ C. plus an acetylpolyoxypropylenepolyoxyethyleneoxypropyl methyl polysiloxane or a polyoxypropylenepolyoxyethylene glycerol, (B) mica, (C) magnesium aluminium silicate or magnesium silicate, (D) water, and optionally a hexamethylenetetramine - dichloropropane adduct as a germicide. In Example 6 a single acetylpolyoxypropylenepolyoxyethyleneoxypropyl methyl polysiloxane is used for (A). In Examples 7 and 8 alternative polyalkylmethylsiloxanes and polyoxyalkylene polysiloxanes are listed.
