Summary:Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for random access. The method which may be performed by a terminal device comprises determining (S211) an association between random access resource and shared channel resource for a request message for a random access procedure, based at least on whether a frequency hopping is enabled for the shared channel resource, or when a frequency hopping is enabled for the shared channel resource; and transmitting (S212), to a network node, the request message according to the association. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, an association between random access resource and shared channel resource of signaling transmissions in a random access procedure can be configured flexibly and efficiently.
