Selon l'invention, un mélange énantiomère d'un composé chiral contenant un noyau pyrimidine est séparé en ses énantiomères respectifs par chromatographie dudit mélange sur une phase stationnaire constituée de polysaccharides chiraux, et par élution avec une phase mobile comprenant un solvant polaire, de préférence un alcanol de faible poids moléculaire ou un acétonitrile.
