A wireless telephone system has one or more wireless handsets and a base unit. Each handset has a handset transceiver. The base unit has a base transceiver for communicating over an RF channel with each handset via its handset transceiver. The base transceiver also includes an interface for interfacing with an external computer, wherein the computer, when interfaced with the base unit via the interface, can control the operation of the wireless telephone system. La présente invention concerne un réseau de téléphonie sans fil comportant un ou plusieurs combinés sans fil et une unité de base. Chaque combiné comporte un émetteur-récepteur de base et l'unité de base comporte un émetteur-récepteur de base lui permettant de communiquer dans un canal RF avec chacun des combinés, au moyen de son émetteur-récepteur de combiné. L'émetteur-récepteur de base comprend également une interface de jonction avec un ordinateur externe, cet ordinateur pouvant commander, au moyen de l'interface, le service du réseau de téléphonie sans fil lorsqu'il relié à l'unité de base.
