Summary:A radiotherapy apparatus is disclosed in which a radioactive-tipped source wire is accurately and precisely positioned within an implantable catheter. Embedded within the source wire, adjacent to its distal tip, is a ferrous ball, and a special magnetic sensor assembly is configured to sense the retraction of the source wire to a predetermined home position by sensing the proximity of the embedded ferrous ball. L'invention porte sur un appareil de radiothérapie comportant un fil source à extrémité radioactive se plaçant rigoureusement et avec précision dans un cathéter implantable. Une bille de fer étant enchâssée dans le fil source à proximité de son extrémité distale, un détecteur magnétique spécial peut détecter le retrait du fil source jusqu'à une position prédéterminée de replis en détectant la proximité de la bille de fer enchâssée.
