Methods and systems for making an absorbent pad for use in an absorbent article utilize a forming device for forming material into an absorbent core, a supply device for supplying a containment layer against the first surface of the absorbent core and spray apparatus for spraying fibers of molten resin onto the second surface of the absorbent core. The fibers form a stabilization layer on the absorbent core that increases the integrity of the absorbent core. The spray apparatus includes a nozzle having a resin aperture for exhausting resin therefrom and multiple gas apertures for exhausting gas therefrom to provide a random pattern to the fibers of molten resin as the fibers are sprayed onto the second surface. Resin can also be sprayed onto first and second portions of the containment layer extending outwardly from edges of the absorbent core so the containment layer and the stabilization layer encompass the absorbent core. In another embodiment, a second containment layer can be placed on the second surface of the absorbent core and first and second stabilization layers can be spaced outwardly therefrom and deposited on the absorbent core. La présente invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes destinés à fabriquer un rembourrage absorbant pour un article absorbant. Ils comportent un appareil de façonnage qui donne forme au matériau du noyau absorbant, un dispositif qui applique une couche de rétention sur la première surface du noyau absorbant, et enfin, un appareil pulvérisant pour vaporiser les fibres de la résine fondue sur la seconde surface du noyau absorbant. Les fibres forment une couche de stabilisation sur le noyau absorbant augmentant ainsi son intégrité. L'appareil pulvérisant comprend une buse dotée d'une ouverture qui permet à la résine de s'écouler et d'autres ouvertuers pour évacuer les différents gaz et donner un motif aléatoire aux fibres de la résine fondue au moment où les fibres sont pulvérisées sur la seconde surface. On peut également vaporiser la résine sur les première et seconde parties de la couche de rétention s'étendant des bords du noyau absorbant vers l'extérieur, de sorte que les couches de rétention et de stabilisation enveloppent le noyau abosrbant. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, on peut placer une seconde couche de rétention sur la seconde surface du noyau absorbant et espacer les première et seconde couches de stabilisation vers l'extérieur et les déposer sur le noyau absorbant.
