An airbag assembly comprises a mounting member (10) for attachment to part of the vehicle, an airbag (38) secured to the mounting member (10) and a cover (40) for the airbag (38). The cover (40) is connected to the mounting member (10) at least partly by snap fit fastening means (24, 60). In another aspect, the cover is attached to the member by connecting a bent over flange on the cover to the mounting means. The method of assembly comprises assembling the cover, airbag and mounting member together into an airbag mounting sub-assembly and then attaching an airbag inflator to the sub-assembly. La présente invention concerne un ensemble sac gonflable comprenant une monture (10) venant se fixer à une pièce du véhicule, un sac gonflable (38) solidaire de la monture (10) et un couvercle (40) couvrant le sac gonflable (38). Le couvercle (40) est retenu sur la monture (10) au moyen d'un encliquetage (24, 60). Le procédé de montage consiste à monter ensemble le couvercle, le sac gonflable et la monture dans un sous-ensemble de monture de sac gonflable puis à fixer un gonfleur de sac gonflable sur le sous-ensemble.
