A multi-story parking facility having parking chambers (6B) each of which is capable of holding two or three cars side by side. In order to put out a car from the inner side parking space (A) which is distant from a transfer truck (5), an intermediate shelf (21) is formed as a space, in which the car on the outer side parking space (B) is placed temporarily, between a horizontal transfer space (4) for the transfer truck (5) and a vertical transfer space (7) of a lift (8). In this intermediate shelf (21), an intermediate conveyor (22C) capable of transferring a car between a truck conveyor (24) for the transfer truck (5) and a conveyor (28) of the lift (8) is provided. In order to temporarily place a car, an intermediate shelf (21) on another parking floor is used. Cette invention concerne un système de parking à étages multiples, lequel comprend des chambres de parking (6B) qui sont chacune capables de contenir deux ou trois voitures côte-à-côte. Ce plateau intermédiaire se présente sous forme d'un espace qui est situé entre, d'une part, un espace de transfert horizontal (4) pour le chariot de transfert (5) et, d'autre part, l'espace de transfert vertical (7) d'un ascenseur (8). Le plateau intermédiaire (21) comprend un transporteur intermédiaire (22C) qui est capable de transférer une voiture entre, d'une part, un transporteur du chariot (24) pour le chariot de transfert (5) et, d'autre part, un transporteur (28) de l'ascenseur (8). Afin de placer temporairement une voiture, on utilise un plateau intermédiaire (21) sur un autre étage de parking.
