Summary: | A process for preparing aromatic polycarbonates which comprises subjecting at least one liquid starting material of polymerization selected from the group consisting of molten mixtures of aromatic dihydroxy compounds with diaryl carbonates and molten prepolymers prepared from aromatic dihydroxy compounds and diaryl carbonates to a transesterification reaction, characterized by conducting the transesterification under reaction conditions satisfying the following formula (1): log (S/V) >/= 2 x 10<-5> x Mn + 0.8 wherein S represents the area (m ) of an evaporation surface defined by the area (m ) of the exposed surface of the liquid starting material; V represents the volume (m ) of the liquid starting material; and Mn represents the number average molecular weight of the aromatic polycarbonate to be prepared.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de préparation de polycarbonates aromatiques consistant à transestérifier, dans des conditions de réaction satisfaisant à la formule (1) log (S/V) >/= 2 x 10<-5> x Mn + 0.8, au moins un matériau liquide polymérisable de départ choisi dans le groupe consistant en mélanges fondus de composés aromatiques dihydroxy et de diarylcarbonates, et en prépolymères fondus préparés à partir de composés aromatiques dihydroxy et de diarylcarbonates. Dans la formule (1), S représente la superficie d'une surface d'évaporation en m correspondant à la superficie de la surface exposée en m du matériau liquide de départ; V représente le volume en m du matériau liquide de départ; et Mn représente le poids moléculaire moyen en nombre du polycarbonate aromatique à préparer. |
