When the AC input current of a PWM-controlled converter which converts an AC voltage into a DC voltage exceeds a limit value, a controller for the PWM-controlled converter is operated so as to reset the integrating element of a current control means which feeds a control signal to the converter or a voltage control means which feeds a reference current signal to the converter. The controller excellently controls the input current of the converter without causing any overcurrent when the power is supplied again after a momentary power failure.
