Summary:Novel group 4 metal complexes wherein the metal is in the +2 or +4 formal oxidation state containing a cyclic or noncyclic, non-aromatic, anionic, dienyl ligand group bound to M and having a bridged ligand structure, catalytic derivatives of such complexes including novel zwitterionic complexes; and the use thereof as catalysts for polymerizing addition polymerizable monomers are disclosed. Nouveaux complexes métalliques du groupe 4 dans lesquels le métal est dans l'état d'oxydation formelle +2 ou +4 contenant un groupe ligand diényle anionique non aromatique, cyclique ou non cyclique lié à M et ayant une structure ligand en pont, dérivés catalytiques desdits complexes dont de nouveaux complexes d'ions dipolaires, et utilisation desdits catalyseurs pour polymériser des monomères polymérisables par addition.
