A detergent composition for hard surfaces is disclosed, which contains: (a) a mixture consisting of at least two compounds represented by formula (I), wherein s is an integer from 1 to 10, representing the number of moles of the ethylene oxide group, which are different in degree of polymerization, said mixture (a) satisfying relationship (1), wherein Nt is the percent by weight of a compound having t mol of the oxyethylene group added based on the weight of mixture (a). The detergent composition has excellent detergency and foaming properties and is useful for removal of denatured oily dirt in the kitchen. L'invention concerne une composition détergente pour surface dure contenant: (a) un mélange constitué d'au moins deux composés représentés par la formule (I), dans laquelle s est un entier de 1 à 10, représentant le nombre de moles du groupe d'oxyde d'éthylène dont le degré de polymérisation varie, ledit mélange (a) correspondant à la relation (1), dans laquelle Nt représente le pourcentage en poids d'un composé présentant t moles du groupe d'oxyéthylène ajoutées en fonction du poids du mélange (a). Ladite composition détergente présente d'excellentes propriétés détergentes et d'écumage et est utilisée pour enlever les salissures graisseuses dénaturées de cuisine.
