2-Aminoethanesulfonic acid/zinc complex compound represented by formula (I), a process for the production thereof, and antihepatitis drug, hepatic function ameliorant and antiulcer drug each containing the compound [I] as the active ingredient. This compound is more excellent in antihepatitis activity than 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, glutathione and glycyrrhizin, has a potent detoxicating activity against various compounds to thereby improve the hepatic function, is excellent also in the antiulcer activity, and is extremely reduced in toxicity. Composé complexe acide 2-aminoéthanesulfonique/zinc répondant à la formule générale [1], procédé de production de ce composé, et médicament antihépatite, médicament améliorant la fonction hépathique et médicament antiulcéreux, contenant chacun ledit composé [1] comme ingrédient actif. Le composé présenté présente une meilleure activité antihépatite que l'acide 2-aminoéthanesulfonique, la glutathione et la glycyrrhizine, il a un puissant effet détoxicant dirigé contre divers composés, ce qui lui permet d'améliorer la fonction hépatique. Il présente également une importante activité antiulcéreuse, et sa toxicité est extrêmement réduite.
