The invention concerns the new(s)(+)-2-ethoxy-4-[N-[1-(2-pipericinophenyl)-3-methyl-1-butyl]amino carbonylmethyl]benzoic acid and its salts, which have useful pharmacological properties, producing an action on the intermediate metabolism and in particular a lowering of blood-sugar levels. The invention also concerns the new intermediates of the formulae (I), (III), (IV) and (VII) as well as their addition salts. The new compounds can be prepared by prior art methods used to prepare analogous compounds. L'invention concerne le nouvel acide (S)(+)-2-éthoxy-4[N-1-(2-pipéridino-phényl)-3-méthyl-1-butyl]aminocarbonylméthyl]-benzoïque et ses sels présentant de précieuses propriétés pharmacologiques, exerçant une influence sur le métabolisme intermédiaire, ayant tout particulièrement un effet hypoglycémiant. L'invention concerne en outre des produits intermédiaires répondant aux formules (I), (III), (IV) et (VII) ainsi que leurs sels d'addition. Ces nouveaux composés peuvent être préparés selon des procédés suivis pour produire des composés analogues.
