Summary: | The new (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyl)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylic acid, i.e., the compound of formula (I), in free or salt form, can be used as the active substance in pharmaceutical preparations and can be made by a new process which is characterized in that racemic 4-(2-bromobenzoyl)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylic acid in an alcoholic solvent is reacted for approximately 6 to approximately 48 hours at high temperature with at least the equimolar amount of quinine, the immediate reaction product in the form of the crystalline quinine salt of the (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyl)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylic acid is separated from the reaction mixture, the (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyl)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylic acid is released from this salt by acid treatment in the usual manner and this free acid is converted to a salt, if desired.
Le nouvel acide (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyle)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylique, c'est-à-dire le composé de la formule (I), sous forme libre ou de sel, peut être utilisé comme agent actif dans des préparations pharmaceutiques et peut être produit selon un nouveau procédé qui se caractérise par le fait que l'on fait réagir de l'acide racémique 4-(2-bromobenzoyle)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylique dans un solvant alcoolique pendant environ 6 à 48 heures à haute température avec au moins la quantité équimoléculaire de quinine; le produit cristallin immédiat de la réaction, qui est le sel de quinine de l'acide (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyle)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylique est séparé du mélange de réaction et l'acide (S)-4-(2-bromobenzoyle)-5-hydroxy-benzocyclobutene-1-carboxylique est libéré de ce sel par un traitement acide habituel et cet acide libre est éventuellement réduit en un sel. |
