Abstract | Disclosed is an assembly for and a method of fluidly connecting a first and second oilfield pipes The assembly comprises: a pin tool joint configured to be fitted to the first oilfield pipe; and a box tool joint configured to be fitted to the second oilfield pipe. The box and pin tool joints are configured to form a connection between the first oilfield pipe and the second oilfield pipe. The assembly comprises an adapter configured to seal a connection between an end of the first oilfield pipe and an end of the second oilfield pipe, the sealed connection being enclosed by the connection formable by the box tool joint and the pin tool joint. The adapter is configured to resist corrosion. Also disclosed is a tubing string comprising the two oilfield pipes and an assembly embodiment. The assembly of the tubing string fluidly connects the two oilfield pipes.
