A stator assembly 1 comprises: a stator core 22; a plurality of coils 23 each having a winding 25 which is wound around the stator core 22; terminals 35 electrically connected to the windings 25; and a terminal block 33 provided on the stator core 22 and supporting the terminals 35. The terminal block 33 has a recess 39 and a plurality of through holes 40 formed in the recess 39. The terminals 35, which are electrically connected to lead wires 36 in the through hole 40, are covered with a filler 43.
