This measurement device comprises: a light source for emitting irradiation light for irradiating an object; a photodetector for detecting reflected light produced by irradiating the object with the irradiation light, and outputting a detection signal; and a processing circuit for processing the detection signal. The processing circuit determines a valid region and an invalid region in a measurement range on the basis of a detection signal for at least one measurement point on the surface of the object, and if the size or proportion of the invalid region in the measurement range is smaller than a reference value, calculates an evaluation index on the basis of distance information in the measurement range.
