La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation catalysée par une base de métal alcalin de polyols comprenant des unités oxyalkylène, consistant à additionner un ligand pour chélater ledit métal alcalin sur une période totale de temps t ≥ 5 min pendant le temps de réaction, à un polyol comprenant des unités oxyalkylène, ainsi que l'utilisation dudit polyol.
