Eine erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung zur Kontaminationsreduzierung weist eine wenigstens ein Getter-Material tragende Trägerkomponente (13, 23) und eine Antriebseinrichtung (14, 24) zum Antreiben der Trägerkomponente (13, 23) derart auf, dass das auf der Trägerkomponente (13, 23) befindliche Getter-Material zwischen einer ersten Position, in der zur Kontaminationsreduzierung in einem Innenbereich des optischen Systems vorhandene Kontaminanten von dem Getter-Material aufnehmbar sind, und einer zweiten Position, in der zur Regeneration Kontaminanten aus dem Getter-Material entfernbar sind, transportierbar ist.
