Disclosed are a wearable device that outputs a sound for an object of interest and a method for controlling same. In one embodiment, the wearable device comprises at least one microphone, at least one speaker, and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: identify an object of interest for a user wearing the wearable device; obtain a sound signal generated by the identified object of interest using the at least one microphone; and on the basis of a sensitivity of the obtained sound signal, output the sound signal generated by the object of interest through the at least one speaker, or output a sound related to the object of interest through the at least one speaker.
