La présente invention concerne un procédé d'optimisation des conditions de purification d'une protéine d'intérêt comprenant : a) la prédiction de la performance de filtration d'une protéine d'intérêt sur la base de l'hydrophobicité de ladite protéine d'intérêt et/ou b) la filtration d'une protéine d'intérêt, la protéine d'intérêt ayant un point isoélectrique dans la plage entre 3,0 et 7,5 et la filtration étant effectuée à un pH au-dessus du point isoélectrique.
