Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Ablagefacheinheit (2) in einem Fahrzeug (1), welche eine Temperiereinheit (3), ein mittels der Temperiereinheit (3) kühlbares Ablagefach (A1) und ein mittels der Temperiereinheit (3) erwärmbares Ablagefach (A2) aufweist, wobei die Temperiereinheit (3) zum Kühlen des kühlbaren Ablagefachs (A1) und/oder zum Erwärmen des erwärmbaren Ablagefachs (A2) in Abhängigkeit von Sensordaten einer Sensorik (10) des Fahrzeugs (1) und/oder von Informationen einer fahrzeugexternen Zentraleinheit (11) und/oder von Informationen einer persönlichen Kommunikationseinheit (12) eines Fahrzeugnutzers und/oder von Informationen aus einer Kommunikation des Fahrzeugnutzers mit einer Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle (13) des Fahrzeugs (1) angesteuert wird, und wobei bei einer erkannten Anwesenheit des Fahrzeugnutzers im Fahrzeug (1), einer erkannten Außentemperatur in einem vorgegebenen Temperaturbereich, einer erkannten vorgegebenen Aktivität des Fahrzeugnutzers und einem erkannten vorgegebenen Betriebszustand des Fahrzeugs (1) das kühlbare Ablagefach (A1) gekühlt und/oder das erwärmbare Ablagefach (A2) erwärmt wird.
