This LED illumination device (3) comprises a substrate (11) on which an LED (12) is disposed, a frame (20) having a main plate part (21) to which the substrate (11) is attached, and a cover member (30) attached to the frame (20). The frame (20) has protruding parts (22) positioned at both sides of the main plate part (21) and protruding from the main plate part (21) toward a first direction side, and a side plate part (23) positioned further outward from the protruding part (22) in the short direction of the frame (20) and extending to a second direction side. The cover member (30) has a main part (31), and an extension part (32) extending toward the LED (12). The extension part (32) has an outer extension part (32a). The cover member (30) is attached to the side plate part (23). The main part (31) has an outside edge part (31a) positioned further outward from the protruding part (22), and the outer extension part (32a) extends from the outside edge part (31a). L'élément couvercle (30) présente une partie principale (31) et une partie d'extension (32) s'étendant vers la DEL (12). La partie d'extension (32) présente une partie d'extension externe (32a). L'élément couvercle (30) est fixé à la partie plaque latérale (23). La partie principale (31) présente une partie bord externe (31a) positionnée davantage vers l'extérieur à partir de la partie en saillie (22) et la partie d'extension externe (32a) s'étend à partir de la partie bord externe (31a).
