A battery according to the present disclosure comprises a battery first electrode, a second electrode, and an electrolyte. The first electrode includes a first current collector and a first active material layer. The first current collector is formed from a green compact including first metal particles. Each of the first metal particles has a first protective layer provided to at least part of the surface thereof. The first protective layer contains an oxide.
