Disclosed are a method and device for performing an improved subchannel selective transmission operation in a wireless LAN system. A method performed by a first station (STA) in a wireless LAN system, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, may comprise the steps of: receiving, from a second STA, a frame including at least one field related to a channel for a subchannel selective transmission (SST) operation; and performing the SST operation in the channel on the basis of the at least one field. Here, the at least one field comprises a first field including bitmap information related to activation of the channel and a second field indicating a resolution to be applied to the bitmap information, wherein the second field may be defined so as to indicate one of a plurality of predefined resolution candidates.
