A method of acquiring an operational certificate for an application (140) running on an authorized and/or authenticated host node (130) in a network (100), the method comprising: transmitting, by the application, a request comprising a Certificate Signing Request to a proxy engine(145) running on the authorized and/or authenticated host node; receiving, by the proxy engine, the request, and submitting the Certificate Signing Request to a Certificate Authority (155); signing, by the Certificate Authority, the operational certificate and transmitting a response comprising the signed operational certificate to the proxy engine; and forwarding, by the proxy engine, the signed operational certificate to the application. L'invention concerne un procédé d'acquisition d'un certificat opérationnel pour une application (140) s'exécutant sur un noeud hôte autorisé et/ou authentifié (130) dans un réseau (100), le procédé comprenant : la transmission, par l'application, d'une demande comprenant une demande de signature de certificat à un moteur mandataire (145) s'exécutant sur le noeud hôte autorisé et/ou authentifié ; la réception, par le moteur mandataire, de la demande, et la soumission de la demande de signature de certificat à une autorité de certification (155) ; la signature, par l'autorité de certification, du certificat opérationnel et la transmission d'une réponse comprenant le certificat opérationnel signé au moteur mandataire ; et le transfert, par le moteur mandataire, du certificat opérationnel signé à l'application.
