A shielded pod (1) for the extraction of beverages, which comprises a bag made of water-permeable material, preferably filter paper, the bag being filled with an edible substance (10) from which a beverage is to be extracted by means of a flow of water (31) that passes through the bag from an entry face thereof (11) to an exit face thereof (12), characterized in that it comprises an annular shield (2) which is impermeable to water and is applied to the entry face (11) in order to reduce the surface thereof that can be passed through by the flow of water (31) in order to extract the beverage.
