An electrochemical sensor apparatus for introducing a needle electrode into the skin of a subject to contact a biological fluid or a tissue in the subject and detect a target analyte. The apparatus has a movable portion which urges the needle electrode in the subject's skin and means for controlling the movement of the needle electrode. Upon actuation of the sensor apparatus, the needle electrode is urged instantaneously and irreversibly into the skin. L'invention concerne un appareil de capteur électrochimique pour introduire une électrode à aiguille dans la peau d'un sujet afin qu'elle entre en contact avec un fluide biologique ou un tissu chez le sujet et détecte un analyte cible. L'appareil a une partie mobile qui pousse l'électrode à aiguille dans la peau du sujet et des moyens pour commander le mouvement de l'électrode à aiguille. Lors de l'actionnement de l'appareil de capteur, l'électrode à aiguille est poussée instantanément et de manière irréversible dans la peau.
