A lighting device comprising a housing, a first light source, and first lens optics. The housing has an opening. The first light source includes a first exit unit for causing first light to exit into the internal space of the housing. The first lens optics include, on a first light path, at least one first lens positioned between the first exit unit and the opening of the housing. The first lens optics cause the first light from the first exit unit to be imaged onto a virtual image plane on the opening side, and cause the first light to exit via the opening. The numerical aperture of the first lens optics is defined by an angle greater than or equal to the spread angle of the first light from the first exit unit.
