Abstract | Disclosed herein are macrolide compounds having senolytic activity. These compounds selectively target senescent cells, and may be used to reduce or eradicate senescent cells in a subject, and/or delay the onset of aging. These compounds also inhibit propagation of cancer stem cells, and may be used to treat cancer, and in particular inhibit the propagation of cancer stem cells responsible for metastasis and tumor recurrence.
